(Photo for representation)After the Anti-Terrorism Squad picked up an army jawan in Agra's Fatehabad area on the suspicion of being 'honey
trapped', the local police are now trying to save face by claiming that it had no information about the ATS operation. The army personnel is
said to have been posted in Punjab's Ferozpur district and he is currently being interrogated by the ATS
Earlier, he was posted in Hyderabad. The jawan had joined the Indian Army in 2017 and recently, while he was posted on the Ferozpur border,
he is suspected to have been 'honey-trapped' and leaked confidential information over the phone. The ATS took him in custody after
intelligence inputs pointed at him as the possible source of leaked confidential information. The ATS has also reported this matter to the
Military Intelligence which is conducting its own inquiry
The identity of the jawan is being kept a secret and the local police claim that it has no information about the operation. However, locals
appear to be siding with the jawan and his family, claiming that his entire family is full of patriots and someone must have falsely
implicated him in the spying scandal
They are also demanding an unbiased inquiry into the case so that the truth comes out soon and the name of the village is not tarnished.
