Share market update: Telecom stocks mixed; Bharti Airtel slips 1%

NEW DELHI: Telecom stocks were trading mixed during afternoon trade on Thursday. The BSE Telecom index was trading 0.39 per cent down at
1,147 around 12:50 pm
GTL Infrastructure (down 4.46 per cent), GTPL Hathway (down 4.30 per cent), Tejas Networks (down 1.79 per cent), Vindhya Telelinks (down
1.54 per cent), ITI (down 1.21 per cent), GTL (down 1 per cent) and Bharti Airtel (down 0.94 per cent) were the losers in the telecom index
However, Aksh Optifibre (up 3.56 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (up 1.75 per cent), Tata Communications (up 1.52 per cent), OnMobile
Global (up 0.76 per cent), Himachal Futuristic Communications (up 0.52 per cent) and Reliance Communications (up 0.15 per cent) were in the
green. MTNL, Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra), Bharti Infratel and Idea Cellular were flat around that time
Benchmark BSE Sensex was 15 points down at 35,631, while the NSE Nifty50 index was down 5 points at 10,765
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red
In the Sensex index, 16 stocks were up, while 15 stocks were down. YES Bank, ITC and Asian Paints were among the top gainers in the Sensex
index. Infosys, Vedanta and Tata Motors, however, were among the top losers in the Sensex kitty of stocks.
