April 8 declared regional vacation in Andhra Pradesh

VIJAYAWADA: With the State Election Commission set to conduct MPTC/ZPTC elections on April 8, the state government authorised district
collectors to state a regional vacation on polling day for all federal government offices, local bodies and other government organizations
located in areas of polling.The district collectors were asked to declare vacation on April 7 and 8 for all public buildings, educational
institutional structures and other buildings that are to be used for performing polls
April 8 will be declared holiday for public and private undertakings and firms to facilitate their workers to exercise their franchise
It authorised district collectors to declare holiday on April 8 in locations alerted for ballot under Flexible Instruments Act, 1881 and
likewise authorised them to state paid vacation to the workers and employees working in shops and facilities located in polling locations
under AP Shops and Establishments Act, 1988
All liquor shops within ballot locations will stay closed during the period of two days prior to the hour repaired for conclusion of polling
The state federal government likewise released an order specifying that no government employee will canvass or otherwise interfere or use
his impact in an election to Parliament, or any house of state legislature or any regional authority or body
The order said that it is the task of federal government servants to be scrupulously impartial in the discharge of their responsibilities in
connection with elections.
