Maruti Suzuki Records 2% Production Fall In December 2021

Maruti Suzuki's production saw a drop in December 2021New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), the nation's biggest car manufacturer,
witnessed a 2 percent fall in production in December 2021
It notified in a regulative filing that the overall production throughout the reported month was 1,52,029 systems compared to 1,55,127
systems in the matching period.MSI said the overall guest car production stood at 1,48,767 units last month, versus 1,53,475 units in
December 2020
Production of mini cars and trucks consisting of Alto and S-Presso models was 19,396 units last month as compared to 27,772 systems in the
year ago period.Similarly, manufacturing of compact vehicles, making up WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno, and Dzire, increased to
86,694 systems from 85,103 systems previously, MSI said.Production of energy lorries - Gypsy, Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, and XL6 -
likewise saw an increase to 31,794 systems in December 2021 from 28,006 systems in the corresponding month of 2020.
