Sturgeon production up 30% in Golestan province

TEHRAN- As announced by a provincial authorities, the production of sturgeons has actually increased by 30 percent in Golestan province, in
the northeast of Iran, in the present Iranian fiscal year (began on March 21, 2022)
Mahmoud Saqli, a director of the Fisheries Department of the province, said that the production of sturgeons has reached 150 loads in this
year, while the figure was 118 loads in the entire of last year.He even more specified that sturgeon production has been transferred to the
private sector, including that all sturgeon breeding farms are run by the economic sector, but the breeding of sturgeon fry is done by the
fisheries reproducing centers of this department in order to protect marine stocks.Saqli revealed the activity of 8 sturgeon breeding
centers in the province and mentioned: Three farms are operating in Bandargaz, 3 farms remain in Kordkoui, one farm is in Agh-Qala and one
farm is in Aliabad-Katul
In relation to the provision of fish feed, the authorities said providing fish feed is the obligation of the private sector and Fisheries
