[Sri Lanka] - President ensures payment of all government wages

INSUBCONTINENT EXCLUSIVE:
President Ranil Wickremesinghe has actually ensured that although it is not possible to pay the incomes of all public servants in one day,
the due payments will be made over the period of a couple of days
Even though we are not able to pay all federal government incomes in a day, we will make these payments throughout two or 3 days ,
Wickremesinghe stated in Parliament today (17 Jan.), adding that the payment of pensions and Samurdhi allowances have been allocated as the
federal governments second and 3rd priorities, respectively
He further noted that Sri Lankas economy seems heading in the best direction, rather than its state over the last few months
We are presently working towards improving our economy, and all that is left now for us is to come to an arrangement with India and China
Negotiations in this regard are underway, which have actually succeeded so far , the Head of State said with regard to Sri Lankas bilateral
creditors.Meanwhile, earlier today, the Cabinet of Ministers authorized a proposition tabled by the President in his capacity as the
Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policy, to pay the monthly salaries of non-executive civil servant on stated dates
and incomes of executive level employees a few days later based upon federal government profits for a couple of months from January.
