[India] - Cooperation ministry inks MoU to help PACs provide

NEW DELHI: Broadening the ambit of main cooperatives and developing brand-new jobs, the ministry of cooperation on Thursday signed a
memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the ministry of electronics and information technology, NABARD and Common Service Centres (CSC)
e-Governance Services India Limited to allow thousands of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) to supply different services to rural
population across the country
The PACS are the soul of cooperatives and making them multipurpose as companies of about 20 services will increase employment opportunities
in backwoods, stated minister of home and cooperation Amit Shah who was together with minister of electronic devices and infotech, Ashwini
Vaishnaw, was present at the finalizing in event
Under the MoU, the PACS will now have the ability to work as CSC and be able to supply all the services listed on the Digital Seva Portal of
CSC scheme to citizens, consisting of banking, insurance coverage, Aadhaar enrolment/update, legal services, agri-inputs like farm devices,
PAN card, IRCTC, and rail, bus, and air ticket related services
Explaining the MoU as a win-win situation for all, Shah stated that this will not only assist in satisfying Prime Minister Narendra Modis
dream of Sahkar Se Samridhi and making cooperatives the foundation of rural advancement, however also reinforce both cooperatives and
farmers.He said that making PACS viable was the greatest issue in front of the cooperative sector, and today a clean slate has been made by
