An 11-year-old from Kattankudy, who was critically hurt in an assault by his stepfather, has passed away while receiving treatment at the
hospital.On February 08, the father of the kid filed a problem with the authorities, declaring that the 11-year-old was admitted to the ICU
of the Batticaloa Hospital after being attacked by the stepfather.Swinging into action, the cops detained the stepfather, a 26-year-old from
Matale location, later on that day.The suspect was placed under remand custody till February 14 after being produced before the court
yesterday.Meanwhile, the boy succumbed to injuries the other day while he receiving healthcare at the health centers ICU.The cops will
provide realities about the occurrence to the Batticaloa Magistrates Court later on today.Kattankudy Police is performing further
examinations into the unfortunate death of the kid.
