Dept. of Immigration and Emigration resumes passport services

INSUBCONTINENT EXCLUSIVE:
The providing of passports, which was temporarily halted yesterday (13 Feb.) due to a problem in the computer system of the Immigration and
Emigration Departments offices islandwide, has recommenced this morning (14 Feb.)
Accordingly, the Department has actually stated that all those who had appointments today have actually been asked for to visit the
department tomorrow (15 Feb.)
All candidates have been urged to check out the Department not on the day for which they have actually been set up to come, but rather, the
following day, the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration Harsha Ilukpitiya said
He added that steps are currently underway to provide the passports through a carrier service to those who were due to gather them yesterday
and are not able to make it today.
