The newly formed Freedom Peoples Alliance (FPA) has actually raised concerns over the recent resistance shown by the Ministry of Finance to
launch the fund needed to hold to upcoming 2023 Local Government (LG) election.In a letter addressed to the President, members of the FPA

is gravely destructive to the country, stating that the attempts made by the federal government to block the LG polls jeopardises the
survival of the democratic system of governance in Sri Lanka.
