One can inherit power, not wisdom: Yogi Adityanath in Assembly

INSUBCONTINENT EXCLUSIVE:
LUCKNOW: In an indirect jibe at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said here on Saturday that 'one can
inherit power, but not wisdom'
Although he did not take any name, his pointed barb was directed to Yadav, who was a surprise CM choice announced by his father Mulayam
Singh Yadav in 2012, when SP won the assembly polls.Accusing the the SP of tarnishing the image of the state when it was in the recovery
mode in the past six years and raising issues like Ramcharitmanas when the state was about to host its biggest investors summit, the CM
said: "It's apt to quote here what someone said 'Shakti dena aasaan hai, budhhi dena bahut mushkil' (It's easy to pass on power, but very
difficult to impart wisdom)
In other words, one can inherit power, but now wisdom."Without mentioning the demand for caste census, the CM also accused Samajwadi Party
of working for the benefit of only one caste and doing too little for the development of the state
Recalling the SP regime, the CM said that during their government in the UPPSC examination, out of 86 posts of SDM, 56 people of a
particular caste were recruited, yet such people had the audacity to talk about social justice today.Intervening, leader of opposition
Akhilesh Yadav urged Speaker Satish Mahana to request the Yogi to table the list of appointments from a single caste during the SP
regime.Launching a scathing attack on SP members for disrupting the joint speech of the governor, the CM also said that 'those who cannot
respect the Governor, the symbol of mother power, cannot be expected to respect half the population of the state'
He termed the SP as anti-woman and said that the opposition's conduct during the Governor's address on February 20 had tarnished the
sanctity of the House.Without taking the name of former CM Mulayam Singh Yadav, the CM hit out at the main opposition party and reminded
them of his oft-quoted statement 'children make mistakes' (about one rape accused) and of the infamous state guest house incident (in which
BSP chief Mayawati was held hostage by the SP workers).Irked over this, Akhilesh stood up and demanded the Speaker to ensure that the reply
to the Governor's address did not go out of context
The Speaker, however, asked Akhilesh to sit saying that when he spoke no one intervened. The CM said that in every state, the constitutional
head discusses the achievements of the government as part of the parliamentary tradition and that the opposition should have shown respect
towards mother power
"One can agree or disagree with the government, but the opposition has tarnished the sanctity of the house with its rude behaviour
What message do we want to give to the country by raising slogans when a woman Governor is addressing the House? Those who cannot respect a
governor, how can they be expected to respect half the population," the CM remarked. The CM said that all the parties have been in power in
the state but people threw them out sooner or later because of their poor performances, adding that the leader of the opposition, therefore,
should blame himself rather than people for not voting for them.He said that while everyone should be proud of the achievements of UP in
terms of getting number positions in various fields, the opposition takes pride in projecting the state as backward and a 'Bimaru'.The CM
further pointed out that the opposition was probably doing it as they could not deliver anything when they were in power
Today, the double engine government of double engine is bringing schemes on the ground without any discrimination and with speed and the
opposition does not have the courage to accept the truth.Continuing his attack further, the CM said that the opposition is just looking for
opportunities to create a new 'Mahabharata' and only misleads people
Except for one caste, the opposition does not even know about other castes such as Vantangiya, Kol, Sahariya, Dharu, Chero, Buxa, etc
"Not only this, when we talk about national pride, Sardar Patel and national unity, then they glorify Jinnah
They do not see any difference between those who unite and those who break the nation," he added. The CM described the Global Investors
Summit as a wonderful example of teamwork
He said that Team UP did road shows in 21 cities of 16 countries and in nine cities of the country
As a result huge investment has come to UP."On the call of Prime Minister Modi, the people of UP gave us mandate in 2014, 2017, 2019 and
2022
This is the biggest example of our political credibility
Referring to folk singer Neha Singh Rathore's song, he said when asked 'Ka Ba Uttar Pradesh mein?', people of UP say 'Baba Ba Na' (We have
Baba).
