[Iran] - Govt., private sector discussion council to offer unique plan for managing forex market

TEHRAN - The 116th discussion council of the federal government and the economic sector was held in Tehran on Tuesday, in which the council
revealed preparing a special proposal bundle for handling the foreign currency market
The conference was attended by senior authorities consisting of Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Ehsan Khandouzi, Head of Iran Chamber
of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Gholam-Hossein Shafeie, and Agriculture Minister Javad Sadatinejad, the ICCIMA
website reported.In his opening speech as the chairman of the council, Khandouzi discussed the recent changes in the forex market and their
direct influence on the activities of traders and makers, stating: The federal government has attempted to curb these unusual fluctuations,
and accordingly new changes have been made in the countrys foreign exchange policies; we hope these modifications will assist to return
stability to the marketplace, however, at the moment we are experiencing the direct results of this situation on the costs of all type of
products and services
The minister kept in mind that the secretariat of the dialogue council will prepare a draft of the discussed proposal plan and present it to
the federal government within 48 hours
We will ask the very first vice president to present this proposed package in a conference with the members of the cabinet and the guv of
the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), he added.Further, in the conference, ICCIMA Head Gholam-Hossein Shafeie invited the concept of the
proposition package and slammed the exclusion of the representative of the ICCIMA from the meetings of the Foreign Exchange Action
Committee, which has been held at the CBI for a number of months
The chambers of commerce, guilds, and cooperatives, as constantly, present the suggested solutions this time through the dialogue council
secretariat, but the federal government needs to focus on these services in order to get out of the existing circumstance, Shafeie said.EF/
