Stock market update: PSU stocks fall; OBC, IDBI Bank, Andhra Bank top losers in the sectoral pack

NEW DELHI: Most PSU bank stocks were suffering losses in morning session of Monday's trade. The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.19 per
cent down at 2,797 around 10:25 am with all components in the red
Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) (down 2.66 per cent) was the top loser in the PSU bank pack, followed by IDBI Bank (down 1.72 per cent),
Andhra Bank (down 1.62 per cent) and Allahabad Bank (down 1.22 per cent). Union Bank of India (down 0.98 per cent), Indian Bank (down 0.82
per cent), Canara Bank (down 0.68 per cent), Bank of Baroda (down 0.67 per cent), Bank of India (down 0.60 per cent), Syndicate Bank (down
0.39 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 0.13 per cent) and State Bank of India (down 0.10 per cent) too were losing. Equity markets were
in the positive terrain on buying in bank, FMCG and auto stocks. ITC, ICICI Bank and Asian Paints were the drivers of rally in Sensex amid
mixed Asian cues
However, losses in HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries and Hero MotoCorp cooled off bourses
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 15 points at 11,025, while the BSE Sensex was up 49 points at 36,546
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red
Apollo Micro Systems, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, BEML and Hero MotoCorp hit 52-week lows on NSE today.
