The new Parliament building was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28.The nearly month-long Monsoon session will have 17
sittings.During the Monsoon session, the NDA government may introduce a bill on implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).Earlier this week,
PM Modi made a fresh pitch for UCC at a rally in Bhopal, evoking criticism from the opposition, which has claimed it was 'polarisation'
tactics.During the session, the government is likely to bring a bill to replace the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi
(Amendment) Ordinance. The Ordinance effectively nullified the Supreme Court judgement that gave the Delhi government greater legislative and
administrative control over 'services' matter.Opposition parties are also gearing up to take on the government on a host of issues.
