SHAHDOL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the National Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Mission 2047 in Madhya Pradesh's
Shahdol, introducing a dedicated portal and presenting a comprehensive guideline for disease management along with various monitoring
modules.While speaking at the occasion, the Prime Minister criticized the opposition and urged the public to be cautious of the "false
promises" made by "dynasty-oriented" political parties, including the Congress."Beware of those (parties) who are giving fake guarantees
Such people have brought schemes of guarantees despite they don't have their own (political) guarantee," the Prime Minister said
He said, "Family-centric parties including Congress are hobnobbing together".On the occasion, the Prime Minister initiated the distribution
of over 3 crore digital Ayushman cards nationwide, along with one crore PVC Ayushman Bharat cards specifically in the state of Madhya
Pradesh.Additionally, he revealed plans to commemorate the 500th birth anniversary of Rani Durgavati throughout India, with the release of
commemorative stamps in her honor.As part of his commitment to healthcare initiatives, the Prime Minister also presented Sickle Cell
color-coded counseling cards to select beneficiaries and personally handed out Ayushman cards and PVC Ayushman Bharat cards to others in
need.The government's dedication to addressing the health challenges posed by sickle cell disease, especially among tribal communities, was
further exemplified through the announcement of the National Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Mission (NSCAEM) in the Union Budget 2023
This mission aims to tackle the pressing health issues related to sickle cell disease and improve the well-being of affected
populations.Modi said that Ayushman Card was a guarantee of Rs 5 lakh treatment in hospitals
"It is the guarantee of Modi," he added."The government aims to eradicate sickle cell anemia from India in a mission mode by 2047," Modi
said, adding that half of the total number of persons affected by this disease in the world are in India.(With inputs from PTI)
