Centre: Don't punish cars and truck owners over high security no. plates

NEW DELHI: The road transport ministry has advised enforcement agencies not to penalise vehicle owners for not having High Security
Registration Plates (HSRP), if the state in which the vehicle is registered has not yet notified the authorised vendors for providing these
number plates
This advisory has been issued to avoid harassment of such vehicle owners in other states such as Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.As per the
advisory issued by the Centre, the ministry has come to know that some states and UTs are yet to notify the authorised vendors for HSRP for
their respective state
How can they get the HSRP unless the state government concerned where a vehicle is registered has not even notified the authorised vendors?
and UTs, the transport ministry would share the details with all law enforcement agencies to guide them
Currently, in the absence of such a centralised list, the local police and transport department officials impose fine on vehicle owners for
not having HSRP.The advisory has been issued to avoid harassment of vehicle owners if the state in which the vehicle is registered has not
yet notified the authorised vendors for providing high Security.
