Ahead of the three-match ODI series against the West Indies, the BCCI has release Mohammed Siraj from India's squad as a precautionary
measure for a sore ankle, the board said in a media release on Thursday.The team has not sought a replacement for the 29-year-old fast
bowler
"The right-arm pacer has a sore ankle and as a precautionary measure has been advised rest by the BCCI medical team.The team has not called
for a replacement player for the ODI series, which commences on July 27, 2023 in Barbados," the BCCI said.Siraj, thus, accompanied the rest
of the returning Test-squad members Ravichandran Ashwin, KS Bharat, Navdeep Saini, KS Bharat and Ajinkya Rahane to back home.India had won
the two-match Test series 1-0.It leaves the Indian pace attack a little thin on experience, with 50 matches between Shardul Thakur, Jaydev
Unadkat, Umran Malik and Mukesh Kumar
Among the quartet, Thakur has played the most (35) number of ODIs, with Mukesh being uncapped in 50-over internationals.Siraj is also not
part of the T20I squad against the West Indies
The ODI series will be followed by five T20 internationals.India are due to play the Asia Cup in August-September, followed by the ODI World
