15-year-old girl, whom he strangulated on February 13, 2022 after she revolted against sexual assault at his home in Bajajkhana area of the
city.The court awarded life term to Gaurav Jain (28), a BTech graduate, for the murder of the minor girl, said special public prosecutor
The victim, a 9th Class student, would visit his house daily for tuition.Jain was arrested from Gurugram after nine days on February 22,
2022, when he was trying to enter his sister's house
On the basis of his statement, police incorporated sections of Pocso Act in the already existing murder case under Section 302 of IPC
Taking note of the brutality of the murder and public sentiment against the accused tutor, the then city SP included the case under officer
scheme for speedy trial and the state government deputed special public prosecutor Mahaveer Kishanawat for the case.(The victim's identity
has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
