While the typical monsoon rainfall in Nepal averages
1,472 millimeters, this year it amounted to 1,303 millimeters, as shared by the department's meteorologist, Sudarshan Humagain
He noted a decrease in rainfall during the monsoon compared to usual.Specifically, Kathmandu recorded 1,283 millimeters of rainfall, which
is 109 percent more than the average rainfall for the region
Despite lower rainfall predictions for Jumla district this year, the district received 210.7 millimeters of rain, exceeding the average by
133.5 percent. Similarly, in Okhaldhunga district, 1,492.1 millimeters of rain were recorded, marking a 107 percent
increase from the average.Janakpur, however, received only half of its typical rainfall this year, with a total of 637.1 millimeters,
compared to the district's average of 1,195.8 millimeters.
