Minister Rai pledges to increase financial investment in education

has vowed to increase investment in education sector for its development.

Addressing a programme organised on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of local Shivapuri Secondary School here today,
Minister Rai informed that financial problems and constraints were hindering augmentation of investment in education."The government
continues investing in education to the extent available resources allow," he said. "Although there is an international
standard that at least 20 per cent of total budget should go to education, we are able to invest only 11.77 per cent," he said
He assured that the government would certainly increase the budget after the country witnessed improved economy.According to him, education
is the prerequisite of infrastructure development."The government is effortful to increase investment in future," he said
He further said noticeable works could be accomplished if the resources had permitted the same.Moreover, Minister Rai pointed out the need
for cooperation from all sides to prepare education bill on time
The bill was drafted in consultation with federation of teachers and agreement was reached with the agitating teachers accordingly
He further said, "With the agreement, there is no room for grievances on the part of teachers and school staffers.""A draft of the bill for
making an act to ensure quality education has been registered at the Parliament
Parliament is entrusted to prepare education bill in a timely and effective manner.I am also active to make the bill timely,"he reminded.A
