Cyber hacker and suspect working for ISI held

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested a cyber hacker from Lucknow who was in touch with Pakistan based Inter-Services
Intelligence (ISI) on Tuesday.The accused arrested was identified as Wasiullah Khan (25)
He was arrested from near Meena Bakery, Rajajipuram area of the capital.Additional DG, ATS, Mohit Agarwal said that Wasiullah was a cyber
expert and a Btech pass out."Name of Wasiullah had surfaced during interrogation of Shailendra Pratap Singh Chauhan, who was arrested on
allegations of spying for ISI and sending vital information related to the army across the border in September 2023," said Agarwal.ATS said
that while scrutinising the digital records of Shailendra they came across a Whats app group allegedly managed and controlled by
ISI."Wasiullah is a member of that online group where he met ISI agents and cyber hackers," said the ATS.ATS claimed that Wasiullah mainly
worked as a cyber hacker and to maintain his secrecy in this illegal work, he also used to deal through crypto currency and on the
instructions of the agents of ISI he used to send money to those working for the agency like Shailesh and others."A sum of Rs 25 lakh was
transferred to the account of Wasiullah by ISI which was further sent to Shailendra," the ATS said
The transactions are in crores and are being checked
As Wasiullah has no business and other economic activity.ATS said Wasiullah admitted that out of greed for money, he took part in the
conspiracy of the ISI agent and misused his bank account at the behest of the ISI agent."We have taken his mobile phone, laptop and sent for
forensic audit where we will trace his whereabouts," said an officer privy to the probe.The accused also used to work for Chinese hackers
who provided him details of credit cards of many foreign countries for which during transactions (One-Time Passwords) are not required
The accused will be taken on remand for further investigation.
