Delhi man takes Bitcoin bait, loses Rs 40 lakh in 3 days

As one link led to the other and one deposit to another, the victim entered a rabbit hole of a "play for Bitcoin scheme."A man in Dwarka
lost Rs 40 lakh to this fraudulent scheme recently
He made 63 transactions within a span of three days only to realise later that he had been duped.No arrests have been made so far.Police
registered a complaint against the suspects behind this scam on Tuesday
According to the complainant, he received a message on social media asking him if he was interested in a part-time job
After he agreed, the accused initially sent him YouTube videos and asked him to like them, take their screenshots and send them on the same
Telegram number
The victim also got paid a nominal amount for these tasks.A few days later, he was added to the 'VIP Daily Task' group where he was told to
deposit Rs 1,000 first
And later on, they provided the victim with a link where users were asked to complete other tasks and deposit money for a huge profit
related to a Bitcoin scheme
With each deposit made, the victim would be assigned certain tasks upon which a credit score would reflect on his account."Following the
instructions, I made transactions worth more than Rs 7.5 lakh in a day, but lost all my money in the game
Upon asking for a solution for refund, the scamsters asked me to further deposit Rs 20 lakh, for which I took a loan
But once the refund was not proceeding, the representatives asked me to invest more money in order to recover the amount," said the
complainant.In order to save his money, the Dwarka resident kept on investing more money between August 24 and 26, but his application was
repeatedly rejected
On realising that he had been scammed, the victim approached police.
