[Afghanistan] - Tajik president stresses the requirement for resumption of CASA-1000 job

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the head of the World Bank on the sidelines of the 28th Climate Change Conference (COP28) in
Dubai, and emphasized the need for work to resume on the CASA-1000 project.Emomali Rahmon said that with the implementation of this project,
1,300 megawatts of electricity will be transferred from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to Pakistan through Afghanistan, and that this project
needs to be completed.The CASA-1000 project connects the energy markets of Central and South Asia through Afghanistan, said
Rahmon.Hekmatullah Maiwandi, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), meanwhile said that Kabul has made the important preparations for this
project, and if the World Bank supports the project and cooperates, work can start soon.A number of economic experts also said that the
start of the CASA-1000 project can be a major step in the provision of electrical energy and will continue to connect the interests of
countries.The CASA-1000 project is one of the largest energy supply projects in Central Asia, which is designed to transfer electricity from
