news conference organized to share the cabinet decisions at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on Sunday, Minister
Sharma announced that the cabinet meeting had approved the Plan of Action on Fossil Fuel Reduction and Increment of Electricity Consumption
for the year 2060 BS.Likewise, the meeting decided to allocate a total of 329 ropani of land in Phaktanglung Rural Municipality, Taplejung
district, for the development of the Ghunsakhola Hydropower Project
The cabinet meeting held on December 14 also resolved to compensate affected households along the Nijgadh-Bardibas section, designated for
the development of the East-West Electrified Railway Project. Similarly, seven government secretaries were transferred, and
the most senior Joint-Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Service, Sewa Lamsal, was promoted to the position of Secretary, as shared by
Minister Sharma.Furthermore, the cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the mobilization of Canadian volunteers.According
to Minister Sharma, the Ministry of Culture has been tasked with signing an MoU for the exchange of cooperation in the cultural sector
between the Nepal government and the Government of Qatar.During the conference, Minister Sharma emphasized that the government is
consistently working to promote austerity, good governance, and ensure prompt service delivery while keeping national interests at the
center
On a separate note, she clarified that the ruling parties have not yet discussed a cabinet reshuffle.
