agitating parties to resolve the issues arising from the Sarlahi incident through talks and consultations.

The NHRC is calling
for a solution to the ongoing disputes that emerged after the demise of Jay Shanker Shah during a clash between demonstrators and security
Locals were protesting for the upgrading of a primary health center in Barahathawa Municipality-6.It is reported that the police resorted to
blank firing and lobbed tear gas shells to control the situation, as demonstrators threw stones at the residential building of Barahathawa
Municipality Mayor Kalpana Katuwal and the municipality office
The NHRC stated that its Madhes Province Office in Janakpur is actively monitoring the incident.
In a press statement, NHRC
Tikaram Pokharel emphasized the need for a fair and independent investigation into the incident
The NHRC called for legal actions against the perpetrators and urged the government to ensure appropriate compensation for the deceased's
family and treatment for the injured individuals.Furthermore, the NHRC appealed to the government to ensure law and order and create an
environment to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future."
