Fairly heavy rainfall expected in three provinces including Western

Showers will occur at times in Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces, the Department of Meteorology says.Showers or
thundershowers may occur at several places elsewhere on the island after 2.00 p.m.Fairly heavy showers above 75mm are likely at some places
in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces.Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central
provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.The public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused
by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.Sea areas:Showers will occur at times in the sea areas off the coast
extending from Mullaitivu to Pottuvil via Trincomalee and Batticaloa.Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places elsewhere in the
sea areas around the island during the afternoon or night.Winds will be north-easterly to easterly and wind speed will be 20-30 kmph.Wind
speed may increase up to 40 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Mannar via Puttalam and from Galle to
Hambantota via Matara.The sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Mannar via Puttalam and from Galle to Hambantota via Matara
will be moderate at times
The other sea areas around the island will be slight.Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during
thundershowers.
