Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, the prime minister&s deputy for political affairs, says Afghanistan needs a modern education system that meets
international standards.Speaking at a two-day conference under the theme &National Conference on the Improvement of Educational Institutions
in Afghanistan&, held at Kabul Education University on Wednesday, Kabir said that the Islamic Emirate is committed to providing quality
education in the country.He said that over the last four decades, the country&s educational system has been severely damaged.Acting Minister
of Education, Habibullha Agha, also said he considers the modern and religious educational system in the country to be weak in terms of
quality and emphasized that efforts are underway to strengthen the system.Acting Minister of Higher Education, Neda Mohammad Nadim, has also
said that education is the foundation of all departments and everyone is responsible for strengthening it.He added that they have more
coordination with the Ministry of Education to strengthen the educational system of the country.The organizers of this conference, however,
added that existing opportunities should be used to strengthen the system.In this two-day conference, 182 research articles on strengthening
