Potable water project in Nangarhar completed

Local officials say a water supply project in Nangarhar province has been put into operation at a cost of 42 million afghanis.This project
has been implemented with the financial support of the United Nations Children&s Fund (UNICEF) and now provides hundreds of families with
safe drinking water, local officials said.The water supply officials of the eastern zone of the country said the project includes six water
pumps, a water purification system and construction work.The residents are also happy with the completion of this project and ask for more
development projects to be implemented in the country.According to the water supply officials for the eastern zone, climate change and
droughts have resulted in a drop in water levels.They say a commission has been established to prevent random boreholes from being dug.The
