Implementation of laws vital for good governance, says PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, APRIL 16Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stressed that ensuring good governance in the country relies
heavily on the successful implementation of laws.In his address to a program titled "Challenges for Good Governance and Government's Future
Roadmap," organized by the Institute for Strategic and Socio-Economic Research (ISSR) today, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to pay
special attention to effectively implementing laws to steer the country toward a path of good governance and prosperity."Preventing
corruption is essential for overall development, promoting citizens' interests, and establishing good governance," stated the government
head, echoing the necessity to legally empower and resource anti-corruption bodies. The government, as announced, is
committed to investigating any cases of corruption that occurred at any time and taking legal action against those responsible for such
offenses
"Good governance, social justice, and prosperity are the top priorities of the incumbent government, with the establishment and promotion of
the first being central," he added.The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of continuous collaboration and cooperation among the three
tiers of government, the private sector, civil society, media, and the masses to implement government policies against corruption and for
good governance.According to him, the successful implementation of laws is crucial for effective governance, leading the country toward good
governance and prosperity.Prime Minister Dahal emphasized the necessity of significant transformations in the policy and legal sectors,
clarifying that the government is actively formulating federal acts in line with national resolutions and necessities."The government has
been making necessary preparations to advance a process to enact laws and amend some laws through discussions with all parties represented
in parliament," he mentioned.Underlining that scientific policies, standards, and the implementation of rewards and punishments are
necessary to ensure good governance, the Prime Minister shared that the government is advancing the process of accelerating development
construction projects."A serious discussion is underway regarding achievements, problems, challenges in development projects, as well as
reforms in policy-level, legal, structural, and working-style sectors to address the problems," he stressed.Adding that the government would
proceed with some structural reform arrangements in the upcoming policy, program, and budget, PM Dahal stated that projects would receive
adequate means and resources along with the prioritization of development projects, ensuring they are completed within the designated time
frame.
