[Nepal] - Madhes CM Yadav receives vote of self-confidence

KATHMANDU, APRIL 16Chief Minister of Madhes Province, Saroj Kumar Yadav, has secured
a vote of confidence from the provincial assembly on Tuesday.

This marks the fourth time that Chief Minister Yadav has sought a vote of confidence
from the provincial assembly
He received 61 votes in favor out of the 107-member assembly.Members of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre),
and CPN (Unified Socialist) supported Chief Minister Yadav, who is also the JSP parliamentary leader from Madhes Province
Consequently, the Nepali Congress, Janamat Party, and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party have been relegated to the opposition bench in Madhes
Province. Earlier in the day, Yadav submitted a motion requesting a vote of confidence from the provincial assembly
members, amid protests from Janamat Party's assembly members
Chief Minister Yadav presented the proposal to the assembly after Speaker Ramchandra Mandal permitted him to table the motion.Janamat Party
members have been disrupting House proceedings, demanding the formation of a parliamentary probe committee to investigate a clash that
occurred three months ago at Madhes Agriculture University in Saptari
They have been advocating for the formation of such a committee and the resignation of Chief Minister Yadav.Yadav sought the vote of
confidence from the provincial assembly after Nepali Congress assembly lawmakers withdrew their support for the Yadav-led
government.Meanwhile, Minister for Forest and Environment Ramesh Prasad Kurmi of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party resigned from his post on
Tuesday, following his party's decision not to support Chief Minister Yadav's continuation.
