Rainy conditions anticipated to improve from today

The Meteorology Department says the prevailing rainy conditions in the south-western part of the island is expected to enhance to some
extent in the next few days from today (08).Showers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-western and Southern provinces and
Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.Several spells of showers will occur in Northern and North-central provinces and in Matale
district, it said.Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts in the evening
or night.Strong winds of about 40-50 kmph can be expected at times over Northern, North-central, North-western provinces and in Trincomalee
and Hambantota districts.General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized
strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
