INSUBCONTINENT EXCLUSIVE:
The Blue Whale, an innovative high-speed submersible unmanned surface area vessel, was introduced on Monday in Zhuhai, south Chinas
Guangdong Province. The launch marks a substantial breakthrough in Chinas marine innovation and suggests a major step forward in the
advancement of intelligent ocean equipment.Developed to operate both above and below water, the vessel can reach surface area speeds of 36
knots, dive to avoid extreme weather condition such as hurricanes and remain immersed in static suspension for over a month, according to
Zhuhai Yunzhou, one of the co-developers
Its adaptability enables quick reaction to emergency situations and efficient application in meteorology, underwater mapping, photography,
water sampling and facilities examinations like submarine cable maintenance.Wu Guosong, primary engineer of the submersible vessel job at
Zhuhai Yunzhou, highlighted the vessels capability to release meteorological rockets and sensors near tropical storm epicenters to collect
important climatic and oceanic data.Chen Dake, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, stated the launch is a turning point in
Chinas independent innovation in marine science, emphasizing its role beforehand ocean expedition and supporting nationwide tactical
objectives.Construction of the engineering model started in June 2024, and the procedure included pressure-resistant welding, hull assembly
and equipment installation. The last phases, including internal debugging, mooring trials and additional sea tests, are set up for completion
before the vessels expected operational launching in 2026.
