TEHRAN-- Samad Rohaninejad, a person from Shiraz, Fars province, donated an elegant collection consisting of 176 ancient challenge Fars
Cultural Heritage Department and took a great step in preserving the cultural heritage of the province.The artifacts, which date back to the
pre-historic period and ancient civilizations of Iran, are now available to museums and safe cultural heritage repositories, IRNA
reported.The culture-lover citizen had collected the collection for several years, that included 160 pottery and bronze items from the
Elamite, Achaemenid, Parthian and Sassanid eras and 16 non-historical objects.This treasure which is the outcome of his interest and pursuit
for many years, suggests art and historical identity of this land.Mohammad Sabet-Eqlidi, director general of Fars Cultural Heritage,
Handicrafts and Tourism Department stated, These antiques are signs of history and identity of Fars land and the outcome of art and genius
It is better to put them in museums and safe repositories for protecting them.He also said that the great culture of donating ancient relics
to the Cultural Heritage Department need to be promoted.Sabet-Eqlidi explained that Fars Cultural Heritage Protection Unit is prepared to
get any information and news relating to the cultural heritage field to protect the historic and cultural artifacts.Donation of this ancient
treasure shows public involvement in protecting the nationwide heritage and indicates the necessity of proper upkeep of these works more
than before.Such measure can be a pattern for instilling the culture of maintaining Irans cultural treasures.KD
