The World Bank said on Monday that payments being made to specialists for jobs in Afghanistan related to work done prior to the collapse of
the previous federal government and that this was cash owed to them.The World Bank said the payments concern arrearages owed by the previous
federal government of Afghanistan to professionals hired under World Bank-financed projects.These specialists completed their work before
August 15, 2021, the World Bank said.The agreements were made between the Afghan government and the specialists, making the government
accountable for these payments, not the World Bank.The World Bank stated however it is assisting to help with the payment procedure on an
exceptional basis after thorough recognition and independent verification.The Bank is not a celebration to the contracts.The organization
said current statements about this procedure and technical coordination show development however kept in mind that no reboot of previous
tasks has been gone over or concurred upon
