INSUBCONTINENT EXCLUSIVE:
A fleet of 100 unmanned electrical mining trucks began group operations at the Yimin Open-Pit Coal Mine in north Chinas Inner Mongolia this
This marks the very first international application of large-scale vehicle-cloud-network collaboration in open-pit mining under a 5G-A
network, improving security and efficiency through technological innovation and setting a brand-new benchmark for wise mining.5G-A is short
for 5G-Advanced, which is a transitional phase between present 5G networks and future 6G innovations
It can provide faster speeds, lower latency and greater reliability compared to the existing 5G network, making it possible for applications
like extended reality (XR) and cloud video gaming on the go.Notably, this project is Chinas first to get rid of chauffeur cabins completely,
isolating workers from hazardous environments and significantly reducing security threats
Such development demands robust data processing and system coordination to guarantee security and efficiency in harsh conditions like
blizzards, dust storms and freezing climates. Each unmanned electrical truck boasts a 90-tonne payload capability, with total transportation
performance going beyond manual operations by 120 percent, even in extreme temperature levels as low as minus 40 degrees Celsius
Huawei Clouds specialized service boosts fleet coordination by upgrading real-time operational maps and optimizing routes through
crowdsourced information, minimizing idle time and improving efficiency.Zhang Pingan, executive director of Huawei and CEO of the businesss
cloud calculating branch, said that Huaweis AI algorithms empower accurate car perception and cloud-based coordination, speeding up the
shift from human-controlled to smart-controlled mining
The project exemplifies Chinas capability in incorporating 5G, cloud computing, AI and green energy innovations while demonstrating AIs
prospective to tackle industry challenges. To make it possible for seamless vehicle-cloud synergy, the Yimin Mine released a 5G-A network
–-- the worlds very first in open-pit mining –-- providing 500-megabit-per-second uplink speeds and 20-millisecond ultra-low latency
This infrastructure supports real-time hd video transmission and cloud dispatching
Future strategies intend to scale operations to over 300 unmanned trucks for 24/7 production, even more enhancing safety and effectiveness.
