The Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Emirate announced on Thursday it is closely following the case of violence committed by a Belarusian
national against an Afghan child at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport.
The ministry said in a statement the Afghan Embassy in
Moscow has been tasked with pursuing the matter through all diplomatic and legal channels and reporting the results back to the
ministry.
The ministry stated that Hafiz Abdullah Yasir, chief of the Afghan mission in Russia, visited the child and in addition to
delivering financial assistance sent by the ministry, assured the family of comprehensive support.
The statement added that since the
perpetrator is currently in custody, the ministry is calling on the Russian Federation to thoroughly investigate the case and ensure the
offender faces legal punishment.

The man then lifted the child and threw him with force onto the ground.
The child, named Yazdan, had entered Russia with his mother after
fleeing attacks in Iran.
He is currently hospitalized in one of Moscow’s medical facilities, and his condition has been reported as
stable.
