Scholars and specialists from China, Japan, the United States and other regions gathered at a seminar celebrating the 80th anniversary of
the triumph in the Chinese Peoples War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.The occasion was hung on
June 29 at Changchun Normal University in China and Musashino University in Japan, with participants using oral histories and independently
held historic products to expose Japans wartime atrocities
They called on Japan to confront historical realities and learn from the past.Tamiko Kanzaki, a former translator for Japans nationwide
broadcaster NHK, stated her youth experiences in the puppet state of Manchukuo, where she was indoctrinated with militaristic
education.She condemned Japans wartime actions, consisting of the well-known Three Alls Policy and the Nanjing Massacre.Yoichi Jomaru, a
previous reporter with Asahi Shimbun, shared his research study on Japanese medias selective wartime and postwar coverage of the Nanjing
Massacre.He criticized the Japanese media for downplaying aggression in China while highlighting Japanese suffering, such as the atomic
battles, and urged the media to safeguard historical truth.Historians at the symposium stressed the value of narrative history in scholastic
research, requiring remembrance of the past and a shared commitment to peace.An exhibition at the Musashino University location featured
artifacts associated with Japans invasion of China, including military correspondence preserved by Japanese civilians
Organizers stated the quiet witnesses serve to trigger reflection and remembrance.Li Suzhen, executive vice president of the Sino-Japanese
Oral History and Culture Research Association, stated that keeping in mind history is not about perpetuating hatred, however about learning
