From July 9 to 18, the cities of Fuzhou and Beijing will host the 2025 China–-- US Youth Choir Week, a cultural exchange event held under
the theme of Singing for Peace
The opening event in Fuzhou, arranged for July 9, will unite nearly 1,000 Chinese and American individuals, commemorating relationship,
cultural heritage and peace through the universal language of music.This choral week is among the flagship occasions arranged in reaction to
Chinas initiative to welcome 50,000 young Americans to China over 5 years, focused on enhancing people-to-people ties and promoting shared
understanding.A total of 22 youth choirs from both nations will get involved, joined by members of the American Friends of Kuliang, agents
from the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation and delegates from sister-state and sister-city programs.The Fuzhou portion of the
event, running from July 9 to 13, includes a dynamic schedule consisting of school check outs, interactive cultural activities, and
spontaneous flash mob performances in public spaces
Choirs will also carry out at major heritage sites across the city, bringing music to some of Fuzhous the majority of renowned cultural
landmarks.A highlight of the week will be an unique joint concert at the Fujian Grand Theatre on the night of July 11, where Chinese and
American choirs will carry out together, showcasing the power of youth-led discussion and creative collaboration.The event is co-hosted by
the Chinese Peoples Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Fujian Provincial Government.By highlighting youth engagement,
cross-cultural dialogue, and shared history, the 2025 China–-- US Youth Choir Week intends to influence a new generation of cultural
ambassadors and advocates for worldwide peace.
