JSW Steel on Friday reported a 158% year-on-year (YoY) surge in its Q1FY26 combined net earnings at Rs 2,184 crore as compared to Rs 845
crore posted in the year-ago duration
The earnings is attributable to the owners of the business and was higher than the Streets price quote of Rs 2,039 crore.The businesss
earnings from operations in the exact same period partially rose 0.5% YoY to Rs 43,147 crore versus Rs 42,943 crore in the year-ago
period.The companys revenue after tax (PAT) increased 45% on a sequential basis versus Rs 1,503 crore reported in Q4FY25, while the topline
fell nearly 4% from Rs 44,819 crore in the January-March quarter of FY25.The metal major and the Nifty constituent incurred costs of Rs
40,325 crore in Q1FY26, which was up from Rs 43,032 crore in Q4FY25 and Rs 41,715 crore in Q1FY25.Consolidated crude steel production for
the quarter stood at 7.26 million tonnes, greater by 14% YoY, while the capability utilisation at the Indian operations was 87% throughout
the Quarter versus 93% in Q4 FY25, affected by planned maintenance shutdowns.Live EventsThe steel sales numbers for the quarter under review
stood at 6.69 million tonnes, greater by 9% YoY
The institutional as well as retail sales volumes were higher by 12% YoY
Domestic sales stood at 5.96 million tonnes, increased 12% YoY, while exports fell 20% YoY and constituted 7% of sales from the Indian
operations for Q1 FY26.The operating EBITDA was reported at Rs 7,576 crores, with an EBITDA margin of 17.6% throughout the quarter
The EBITDA increased by 37% YoY, driven mostly by higher volumes and lower coking coal costs.The company registered income from operations
of 31,613 crores, lower by 3% YoY, while the signed up operating EBITDA of 5,585 crores for Q1FY26, greater by 31% YoY
The EBITDA margin for the quarter was 17.7%
The Company reporteda Profit after Tax of 2,178 crores for the quarter.Crude Steel Production for the Quarter was 5.34 million tonnes,
higher by 1% on a YoY basis
Steel Sales were 5.26 million tonnes for the Quarter, higher by 3% YoY.
