Share market update: These stocks surged over 10% in a weak market

10.94 per cent) surged over 10 per cent on NSE in morning trade on Thursday in an otherwise weak market
Stocks such as United Bank of India (up 8.89 per cent), Greaves Cotton (up 8.46 per cent), Shalby (up 7.70 per cent), Kitex Garments (up
7.12 per cent), Jaiprakash Associates (up 6.31 per cent), PTC Financial (up 5.88 per cent) and Honda Siel Power (up 5.68 per cent) also
witnessed decent traction. Equity market sentiment was subdued on the last day of August series of futures and options contracts
Rupee's unabated fall too weighed on the risk appetite of investors
The NSE Nifty index was trading 32 points down at 11,660.15, while the BSE Sensex was down 85.55 points at 38,637.38 around 10:10 am. Among
the 50-stocks in the Nifty index, 18 stocks were in the green and 32 were in the red. UPL, ITC, Bharti Airtel, Power Grid Corporation and Dr
Reddy's Laboratories were among the top gainers, while HPCL, Axis Bank, Indian Oil Corporation, HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra were
among the top losers in the Nifty index.
