Stock market update: Bank stocks mixed; YES Bank, Axis Bank jump over 2%, but PNB, IDFC fall

NEW DELHI: Bank stocks were trading mixed during Tuesday's session
The Nifty Bank index was 0.32 per cent up at 25,049 at 12 pm, with six stocks advancing and an equal number of stocks declining. Shares of
YES Bank (up 2.78 per cent), Axis Bank (up 2.41 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 2.27 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 1.02 per cent), HDFC Bank
(up 0.62 per cent) and State Bank of India (up 0.49 per cent) were the gainers in the bank index
On the flip side, Punjab National Bank (PNB) (down 2.60 per cent), IDFC Bank (down 2.06 per cent), RBL Bank (down 1.52 per cent), Kotak
Mahindra Bank (down 1.42 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 0.97 per cent) and Federal Bank (down 0.97 per cent) were the losers in the index
Domestic equity market benchmarks Sensex and Nifty were in the green zone on gains in a select heavyweight counters, including Infosys,
HDFC, Axis Bank and Hindustan Unilever. However, an uptick in global crude oil prices and subdued rupee capped the gains of the
benchmarks. The NSE Nifty50 index was up 19 points at 10,986, while the BSE Sensex was up 97 points at 36,402
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red
YES Bank, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank and Infosys were among top Nifty gainers. Indiabulls Housing Finance, GAIL (India), Coal
India, BPCL and HPCL were among the top losers in the Nifty index.
