Stock market update: Auto stocks fall up to 5%; Eicher Motors, Hero MotoCorp top losers

NEW DELHI: Most auto and auto ancillary stocks were incurring losses, keeping the sectoral index down in Thursday's session. The BSE Auto
index was trading 1.25 per cent down at 20,748 around 10:45 am. Eicher Motors (down 4.75 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 3.70 per cent), TVS
Motor Company (down 2.65 per cent), Bosch (down 2.25 per cent) and Bajaj Auto (down 2.11 per cent) were the top losers in the auto index
Shares of MRF (down 1.74 per cent), Cummins India (down 1.06 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 1.05 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 0.84 per
cent), Exide Industries (down 0.81 per cent) and Apollo Tyres (down 0.75 per cent) declined up to 1 per cent. Maruti Suzuki India (down 0.50
per cent) and Mahindra Mahindra (down 0.40 per cent) declined about half-a-per cent
Tata Motors (up 0.86 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries (up 0.51 per cent) were in the green in the index
Benchmark BSE Sensex was 602 points down at 35,373, while the NSE Nifty50 index was down 184 points at 10,675
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 8 were trading in the green, while 42 were in the red
Larsen Toubro, YES Bank, Vedanta, Tata Motors and Axis Bank were in the green in the Sensex index. Reliance Industries, Hero MotoCorp,
TCS, Hindustan Unilever and IndusInd Bank were among the top losers in the Sensex kitty of stocks.
