Karimnagar: The Ramagundam Job Force police apprehended Peddapalli Zilla Parishad chairman Putta Madhukar at Bhimavaram in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.
Madhukar was on the run for the past couple of days following his participation in the murder of a High Court advocate couple, Gattu Vaman Rao and P.V.
Nagamani, in February this year.The murder was linked to certain cases submitted by the couple against supposed land advancement by Madhukar.
The arrest comes amidst the sacking of minister Eatala Rajendar from the Cabinet, following accusations of intruding on government land.
The arrest was made after a case was lodged by Gattu Vaman Rao's dad Gattu Kishan Rao, believing Madhukar's role in the murder case.Reportedly receiving information that the government issued orders to penetrate his function in the murders case from a senior authorities in Hyderabad, Madhukar vanished on April 30, just when Rajendar started dealing with accusations of encroachment of assigned land parcels in Achampet and Hakimpet in Medak district.The police suspect that Madhukar went through states like Maharashtra, Kerala and Chhattisgarh prior to landing up in Andhra Pradesh leaving his shooters and employing private cars.
He altered 4 automobiles from the time he went missing and utilized a different smart phone, police said.

There are claims that Madhukar, right from the time he was chosen MLA from Manthani, had indulged in several unlawful activities.It was discovered that in the name of Putta Lingamma Charitable Trust, he had collected crores of rupees.
