NEW DELHI: Star India batter Virat Kohli on Sunday became the fastest to get to the 25,000-run mark in international cricket.
Kohli attained the task in 549 worldwide matches across formats, going beyond famous Sachin Tendulkar (34,437), who got to the landmark in 577 innings.
Kohli got to the unique club in the second session on Day 3 of the Delhi Test versus Australia.Australia excellent Ricky Ponting (27,483) is 3rd on the list.
He got the 25,000-run mark in 588 innings.South African Jacques Kallis (594 innings) is fourth on the list followed by Sri Lankas Kumar Sangakkara (608) and Mahela Jayawardene (701 ).
