AHMEDABAD: A Gandhinagar family court annulled the marriage of a teacher and his medical professional partner in 2015, 4 years after he applied for divorce.

She challenged the order right away in Gujarat high court, however they had a change of mind in the meantime, reconciled and begun cohabiting gladly again with their child.

It took them another 8 years to get their divorce erased from the records.The couple got wed in 2006 and had a kid in 2009.

As their relationship soured, the other half looked for judicial separation and applied for divorce in 2011.

Miffed, the better half filed a flurry of matches against him, but in 2015, the household court in Gandhinagar approved them divorce.However, the other half moved the HC, looking for annulment of the divorce and reinstatement of their marital status.

Rather of challenging it, the other half supported the other halfs need.

The HC stayed the divorce decree the day the appeal was filed.The appeal stayed pending for many years, and when it came up for hearing early this February, the couple informed the court that after their divorce, they began satisfying each other.

They stated their child brought them together.

In a joint affidavit, the couple sent they were cohabiting and all conflicts between them had been settled amicably.While remarrying was a choice, the couple insisted they did not desire the family courts judgment to be on the records.

The litigation they submitted remained pending in court.

They offered an undertaking to the HC that once the court quashed their divorce, they would withdraw the procedures in lower courts.

The HC quashed the divorce and asked the couple to withdraw all charges in lower courts in 10 days.In the middle of their legal battle, the couple had a change of heart, fixed up and started living together happily once again.
