BENGALURU: The Karnataka government on Friday said it would review allotment of government land by the previous BJP government to RSS and other Sangh Parivar outfits.
It also announced the termination of two contracts one to GVK for providing 108 ambulance services and the other for upgrading dialysis units in the state calling the process improper.Health and family welfare minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said hundreds of acres have been handed to Parivar-linked institutions, which urgently need a relook.
We must ascertain if allotments were done lawfully and followed due procedure.
Based on primary findings, well take a decision on what can be done now, he said.According to him, the purpose behind such allotments was to help these (right-wing) outfits and their ideologies grow.
This (allotment of land) should not happen.
Everything should be communicated to the public.
Nothing should be kept a secret, and people should know.
Taking everything in one direction is not proper.
So, we must take steps (to prevent such incidents), he said.
He, however, didnt give details of land allotments made by the BJP government between 2019 and 2023.Asked whether the government has taken any steps yet, Rao said the chief minister and the revenue department should confirm whether allotments are legitimate and at what price allotments have been made.
