NEW DELHI: Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar adjourned the House till 2pm on Wednesday following his strong objections to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sushil Kumar Gupta wearing a garland of tomatoes inside the House.Upon the commencement of the day's session and the initiation of the listed agenda, the chairman directed his focus towards the AAP member and expressed his anger."There is a limitin our conduct.
As chairman of Rajya Sabha, I am extremely pained to see honourable member Mr Sushil Gupta, the way he has come, he said.I will discuss this matter with the leader of opposition, he said.The Centre has been facing criticism from opposition parties due to the increase in the prices of certain essential commodities, particularly tomatoes.
Gupta entered the House wearing a garland made of tomatoes.On the occasion of Quit India anniversary, the House earlier paid tributes to freedom fighters.
