NEW DELHI: The virtual G20 Summit that India will host on November 22 will push for effective implementation of several of the decisions made by the members at the New Delhi summit, including through relevant national and international platforms, said the government in an official announcement of the summit.According to the government, leaders of all G20members including the Chair of the African Union, as well as the nine guest countries, and heads of 11 international organizations, have been invited for the summit.Issues related to the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Hamas conflict are expected to come up at the event.
Its not clear yet who will represent Russia and China in the summit.Both Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping had skipped the in-person summit in September.
Putins press secretary Dmitry Pesko said Russia is getting prepared for the G20 virtual summit, which will be hosted by India.
These preparations are underway, he said.It may be recalled that the New Delhi G20 summit witnessed the unanimous adoption of the G20 New Delhi Leaders Declaration.
The virtual summit will take forward key, select outcomes/action points from the New Delhi summit as well as review developments since then.
The deliberations of the 2nd Voice of Global South Summit, held on November 17, 2023, will also feed into the discussions, it said.
