AMRAVATI: A 32-year-old man has been arrested on charges of murdering his younger brother and causing injuries to their father while intoxicated during the World Cup cricket final in Amravati district of Maharashtra.
The unsettling incident transpired in Anjangaon Bari village on Sunday as Pravin Ingole, engrossed in watching the India vs Australia match on television and consuming alcohol, allegedly assaulted his father, Ramesh Ingole (65), with an iron rod.The violence extended to Pravin's younger brother, Ankit (28), who succumbed to injuries inflicted by the same rod.Cricket fan breaks down after Australia beat India by 6 wickets in ICC World CupContrary to initial speculation, a police officer said that the catalyst for the outburst was not India's defeat in the final match.
