HYDERABAD: With the assembly polls less than a week away, the BRS government received a shot in the arm on Friday with the Election Commission approving the disbursement of Rythu Bandhu amounts to farmers in Telangana.Armed with ECIs nod, the state government will start disbursing the schemes money in a day or two by depositing it into the farmers bank accounts, official sources said.Around 60 lakh farmer families who constitute a large chunk of Telanganas total 3.2 crore voters would benefit ahead of the polling day which, poll pundits believe, could prove to be a masterstroke for the party in power.Under the scheme, input support of Rs 5,000 per acre per farmer is directly transferred into the accounts of farmers for kharif and rabi seasons, making it to Rs 10,000 per annum per acre.
